SAVOR turns 10 this year (time flies!) and we’re making some fun changes to celebrate this milestone.
What kind of changes?
Glad you asked. For starters, we’re going to have 10 additional breweries—one for each year we’ve savored together—bringing the total to 86. Each brewery will have two of their most sought after beers on hand.
Why add more breweries?
Because more breweries! And because choice, variety and discovery are the hallmarks of the SAVOR experience.
We’re also freshening the format with a new “Grand Marketplace” floorplan that will allow for greater mobility and discovery. The beer and food pairing tables will form a perimeter around the hall, giving people a chance to mingle in the center of the hall and easily find their next pairing.
The Grand Marketplace layout is our nod to the Old World markets found in European capital cities. We think it’s going to be a great change!
With no Salons this year, we’re bringing additional pairing opportunities to the second floor, where guests can sample from 10 breweries matched up with a variety of artisan food producers. You’ll find cheeses, charcuterie, seafood and other delicious items to delight your senses.
What won’t change in 2017…
As always, SAVOR will feature the brewers and brewery owners themselves! Very few festivals offer the kind of intimate access that SAVOR is known for. Guests are encouraged to spark up conversations with the people and personalities behind the beers.
And the pairings will be expertly matched (shout out to Brewers Association Executive Chef Adam Dulye!) to show the glorious interplay between fine food and craft beer. In keeping with SAVOR’s history, the lion’s share of the menu features organic ingredients from local producers.
The elegant environs of the National Building Museum will again provide a stunning backdrop to the festivities. (We at the Brewers Association, host of SAVOR, often say that this event “dresses itself.”)
